How we work at
Atelier Konte…

“What I really love about Dana’s advice is how she listens to our ideas and then brings them together as a bigger scheme.”
“Dana also gave us inspiration for other parts of the house and was very happy to come and advise with no obligation.”
“Dana masterfully incorporated a lot of our existing furniture into the new design and sourced some unusual pieces for us.”

Our service

Our first point of communication is a virtual call or site visit. This allows us to make an initial assessment without any commitment from either party. It also gives you the opportunity to evaluate us and determine whether we are the right fit for you and your project. Initial calls and meetings are free of charge.

The following process has been carefully constructed to be flexible and perfectly tailored to your specific project’s needs and budget. For smaller projects, or those on tight budgets, we can simplify the process. We are also happy to develop complete design presentations allowing the planning and implementation stages to be carried out by clients themselves.

Phase 1: Brief and site survey
Phase 2 – the design process
Phase 3: Planning and implementation
Phase 1

Brief and site survey

Brief: We initially meet you to discuss in depth your requirements, aspirations, budget and overall vision for the space. This will involve using interior design magazines, books, Pinterest boards and other sources to ensure we have a complete understanding of your wishes, concerns, likes and dislikes.

Site Survey: A site visit will then be carried out taking measurements and photographs, checking on the general condition of the site and the access to it. If you already have technical drawings or architectural plans, we will happily take these into consideration.

Phase 2

The design process

Mood board development: We conduct thorough research and gather images and photographs that visually represent your brief, the desired mood and feel. These will include colour, texture and the furniture types we feel would be ideal for your project. These are presented digitally. The agreed mood board will closely guide us through the subsequent phases.

Sketch drawings: We draw some simple sketches, showcasing our creative process and give you the opportunity to compare different options.

Technical drawings, sample boards and 3D visuals: We complete the design phase by producing scaled technical drawings with material and product selections and specifications, digital and physical sample boards and 3D visuals. These are produced using computer-aided design and rendering software to help you visualise the space fully.

Phase 3

Planning and implementation

Pricing: We gather prices, quotes and lead times from contractors and traders for all items, working hard to obtain the best possible quality, reliability and outcome.

Purchasing and installation: We work closely with the appointed contractors and trades people to deliver a seamless execution of the project. This includes handling all orders and deliveries while quality checks including regular site visits are carried out and clients updated.

Completion: The completed project is handed over to the client followed by their full feedback.
