The Brief
A busy professional couple were eager to infuse their personal style into their newly purchased home, which boasts charm on the outside but feels somewhat outdated inside. With a clear vision for their ideal space, they called on the expertise of Atelier Konte to refine their ideas, ensure a cohesive design, and fully project manage the transformation. Their goal was to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, avoiding fleeting trends in favour of timeless, elegant design that will endure for years to come.
Upgrading key elements brought clarity
We worked closely with the homeowners, refining their ideas and incorporating bespoke solutions. This allowed them to experiment with every detail, ensuring that all aspects of the design were carefully planned and executed. The result is a seamless blend of personal style and design excellence. The project required extensive upgrades, including new hardwood floors, fireplaces and electrics, and the reimagining of key spaces.
Bespoke joinery added character and functionality
One of the standout features was the creation of bespoke joinery in the dining room, living room, snug room, office/library, and master bedroom. This truly added both beauty and functionality. Custom cabinetry and storage solutions were designed to fit perfectly within the space, while new fireplaces became striking focal points in key rooms, adding much needed character and architectural detail.
The flow of space improved
The floor plan was also reworked, swapping the snug room with the dining area to better suit the homeowners’ needs. This shift improved the flow of the space and created a more practical layout, allowing for better use of each room. Throughout the design, Atelier Konte adopted a warm, natural colour palette that infused each room with depth and character. The outcome is a home that not only reflects the homeowners’ style and lifestyle but also offers enduring comfort, practicality, and a true sense of joy in everyday living.
